Mark Williams is a Director and the head of the Private Client Department. Mark specialises in Wills, Tax Planning and Probate, and residential conveyancing, and has been qualified as a Solicitor since 1990. He is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the Law Society Probate Section, and the Law Society Property Section.
Mark is married (to another lawyer in the firm) and they have one young son. They live on the Derbyshire/Leicestershire border in a small village famous for its eight pubs. His main interests are cars and bikes (motor not push), and he is the proud owner of various motoring exotica. Once a County-standard sprinter and rugby player, Mark has now lapsed into complete physical inactivity although he fondly imagines he retains a youthful, athletic appearance that belies his 40ish years.
Mark's other interest is property restoration. Over the last fifteen or so years, Mark and his wife first restored an old Salt Warehouse on the banks of the River Trent, and then took on an old farm-house in Oxton, near Southwell in Nottinghamshire, doing all or the work themselves including bricklaying, plumbing, plastering and so on. Their most recent project is building their current home, from scratch. Mark now has practical expertise in dealing with the finance, conveyancing and planning issues relating to self-build projects, and has forged links with specialist architects and other experts which have proved useful to several clients in recent years.
If you’re looking for down-to-earth practical advice in easily-understood language, with a bit of humour thrown in to stop you getting bored, Mark’s your man.
